IOTA in the conference of International VAT Association

Mr Miguel Silva Pinto, IOTA’s Executive Secretary participated in a conference 'E-commerce - Shaping the Future of VAT/GST' organised by the International VAT Association – IVA, where, together with representatives from the European Commission, tax administrations from different EU members as well as businesses representatives he debated the current state of play and future trends of global VAT.

Mr Silva Pinto took the opportunity to brief the participants on the mission, products and priorities of IOTA, stressing the importance of the organization as a Forum for tax administrations officials to gather and exchange knowledge and experience on practical solutions to overcome the challenges of modern taxation. He also announced that IOTA will soon address digital economy and new business models, which will be the theme of this year’s technical session of IOTA General Assembly, scheduled to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, from the 28 to the 30th June 2017.
