Video Message from Ferenc Vágujhelyi, President of IOTA
Ferenc Vágujhelyi, the Commissioner of the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary (NTCA), extends his greetings to the IOTA membership as he has recently begun his second term and Hungary’s fourth term as IOTA President.
In the video, he reflects on Hungary’s long-standing role as one of the founding members of IOTA and emphasises ongoing efforts to strengthen IOTA’s financial stability. He highlights continued support from member tax authorities and innovative initiatives, such as the Day of Excellence in Taxation, which recognises outstanding tax professionals within IOTA.
The President stresses the importance of building on this momentum to ensure IOTA’s success and sustainable growth. He reaffirms Hungary’s commitment to IOTA’s goals through active participation in governance, decision-making, and innovative projects. As he takes on his role for 2025/2026, he calls on member tax administrations and their tax professionals to collaborate and share ideas to further IOTA’s mission.
The NTCA was designated as the next IOTA Presidency for 2025/2026 by the 29th General Assembly in June 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan. With this decision, Mr Vágujhelyi returns as President for the upcoming term, marking Hungary's fourth presidency following previous terms in 1998/1999, 2005/2006, and 2023/2024.
