IOTA represented at the IMF Community of Practice event in Vienna, Austria
On 15–16 April 2026, the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) participated in the Southeast Europe Tax Collection and Debt Management Community of Practice, hosted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the Joint Vienna Institute in Vienna, Austria. IOTA was represented by Ivana Donchevska, International Taxation Expert, who contributed to the programme by presenting insights from the IOTA subgroup’s project on the Automation of Tax Debt Management Processes.
The two-day event brought together representatives from tax administrations across Southeast Europe and combined country updates, technical presentations, and interactive discussions. Key sessions focused on automating tax debt management processes, performance management, and ongoing digitalisation efforts, with practical experiences shared by several participating administrations.
On behalf of IOTA, Ivana Donchevska presented the main objectives, key findings, and lessons learned from the subgroup’s project, offering relevant insights for the region. She also highlighted upcoming IOTA activities, including the Forum on Tax Debt Management to be held on 7–8 October 2026 in Vilnius.
The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, peer learning, and regional cooperation. Discussions were highly interactive, allowing participants to explore common challenges and practical solutions in a collaborative environment.
IOTA expresses its appreciation to IMF Expert Dmitri Jegorov for the invitation. Participation in the event further underlined IOTA’s commitment to supporting member administrations in advancing efficient and modern tax debt management practices.
